Presented with a Citation from Mayor Spinello

Another highlight for 2017 was being presented with a Citation by
Mayor Spinello at the City Counsel Meeting on October 24, 2017. I
received the Citation for the work I am doing with Piper to educate
children to help lower the number of dog bites involving children
and help keep dogs out of shelters. And also for being honored for being a
Pet Age ICON Award winner.

2017 Pet Age ICON Award Winner!

I was named one of 20 winners, nationwide of the Prestigious
Pet Age Magazine 2017 ICON Awards. I consider this to be quite an
honor because I am recognized by the pet Industry for the work Piper
and I are doing to educate children about dog safety through my books and presentations.
Thank you to Pet Age Magazine and congratulations to the other winners!

Jacqui Butler says:Ii just wanted to write a few words about Mariah who I have known for several years & all the Amazing Work she is Doing. As an experienced dog trainer I highly recommend Mariah Leal’s Book Series “The Adventures of Piper” for children. She explains the importance of training & socializing your dog in terms children can understand and relate to through “Pipers” eyes. Her goal is to cut down on dog bites with children & the number of dogs turned in to shelters is very important. These books are a must for those getting a dog, or those that already have a dog.

Piper & I received 32 letters of thanks & comments from the Boces Animal Science Classes we did. What a wonderful surprise to hear what the students learned from my presentation. Thank you Oneida/Herkimer/Madison Boces!

Herkimer Library: Thank you for a wonderful presentation. One of the children Zackerys’ mom says “Zackery had a wonderful time and is looking forward to reading the rest of the Piper Books.  Thank you so much for writing books that he is so excited to read”.

Jordanville Library: So nice to meet you & “Piper”. Everyone had a very positive experience. You have a very valuable program. We will put you on the list for next year. Thanks again!

Customer Arizona: I loved the books I ordered for my soon arriving first great-grandchild. My neighbor was so impressed that she would also like a set of the books. Thank you for such wonderful reading!
